Quick and Easy Instructions

• 'Run' the program from the website. This will automatically start the WinZip Self Extractor.
  
• Unzip the program to the Default location.
  
  • Some versions of Windows may from put the program's files into its Libraries - REC-TEC will not run from a Library as it is fully contained in its folder and does not interfere with or change your System files. Unzipping to a USB Drive will eliminate this problem. Change the default folder on the Unzip screen to the Drive letter for your USB drive (M is used in the example (M:RECTEC), and unzip the 420+ files. Make sure you use the RECTEC so it puts them all in a folder instead of all over the drive. Use Copy and Paste to transfer this RECTEC folder to C:Program Files on the computer.
    
• The new Installation will try to start the program unless you deselect this option on the WinZip Self Extractor.
  
• When the program Starts, it will display several messages (Trial copy only) before bringing you to the white Configuration Screen. You will see a Yellow button to make a REC-TEC Icon. You can use it now to set up an Icon which will point to the program. The Configuration Screen is called by going to Settings > REC-TEC on the top line of the REC-TEC program Window.
  

Licensing Instructions

If you have previously downloaded the program, it is suggested that you remove the RECTEC folder and start from scratch.It is very strongly recommended that you place the RECTEC folder in C:Program Files, thus creating the C:Program FilesRECTEC folder.This will eliminate confusion in the future.

If you are sent a Sentinel.rtx file, save it to the C:Program FilesRECTEC folder then start REC-TEC.

If you are sent a Name, Password and Status Identifier, start REC-TEC.

If you are renewing your Platinum Option, go to Setup > Reset Program License to bring up the Entry form for your Name, Password and Status Identifier. That information will be given to you or sent separately in an email if applicable.

Each part of this information must be entered in the specified block exactly as they appear in the email or packet given to you.Once REC-TEC accepts the information, your name or the name of your Department will be shown and the program will reset to REC-TEC Platinum.If your name or your department is incorrect, contact us as soon as possible to correct the issue.

After REC-TEC is up and running, Copy the RECTEC folder and Paste it to a USB Drive. You may also Paste it to other computers without the need to license it again.Failure to make a backup of your License information will require purchasing an additional year of Platinum to receive new licensing information or a new file if the old copy is lost or the disk is reformatted.

Follow these instructions carefully.If you have any problems or questions about the installation, please call 321.271.6459.Discovering what went wrong may be difficult over email unless you go into minute detail describing any messages that appeared.

• Thedownload file (RTProVE.exe) should be 'run'from the website in order to automatically begin the extraction process.
  

• REC-TEC now checks to see if it is running as an Administrator, and will notify the user if it is not. To manually check, when the program is showing the main REC-TEC Screen, press the F1-key. If a Help file appears, the program is running as an Administrator.
  
  If youhave a problem with Windowstryingto place files in a library,unzip the files to a USB drive (N:RECTEC- where the N is the Drive Letter of your USB Drive). Copy the entire folder toC:Program Files.

• Itmay be necessary to manually allow REC-TEC through the Windows Firewall (see Helpful Tips below).

HelpfulTips

• If WinZip generates a message that it is unable to create the output file, it means that a copy of REC-TEC is currently running. Itwill be necessary to go to Windows Task Manager and End all running copies of REC-TEC, or simply reboot your computer to terminate the running copy.
  

• To completely disable the libraries - Google 'Disable WindowsLibraries' and find out how to Disable/Enable this function.
  

• To show common file types -In Windows Explorer select View. Check the block 'File name extensions.'
